The stages of the rehabilitation

Turning a tool factory into an archive center involves major renovations.

The rehabilitation of the site began in 2006 and was completed in 2010, having respected the spirit of the original buildings.

The goal was to turn Terre Blanche in an archive reference center equipped with powerful, appropriate tools, always selected with a view to optimizing costs.

After having renovated the buildings and fitted them with power and fluids, the rooms were allotted according to the nature of the documents.
The conservation conditions were defined in order to set up the proper equipment.

Today, the Archive Center occupies an area of 2,500 m2 over which are spread:

1 administrative space
7 archive storage units
2 digitization rooms
1 reception area and exhibition space

It stemmed from PSA Peugeot Citroën’s determination to safeguard and showcase its heritage and its history for its employees, and for students and researchers.
